A month and a half after Lifetime canceled Drop Dead Diva, the show was brought back for a fifth season after the network signed a deal with Sony Pictures Television. The season will have 13 episodes and premiered in the summer.
- Jane will again have a new gaurdian angel, played by Justin Deeley.
- Natalie Hall will make an appearance as Brittney, a young and pretty model whose body is inhabited by the real Jane Bingum.
- Josh Stamberg will not be returning as Jay Parker.
- Annie Ilonzeh will have a recurring role as Owen's new assistant, Nicole.
- Some of the guest stars set to appear: Barbara Corcoran, John Ratzenberger, and Sandra Bernhard.
